Mini bio
Nicolás Rojas-Morales is a faculty member in the Department of Computer Science at the Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María (UTFSM) in Valparaíso, Chile. He received his Ph.D. from the same university in 2018, where he worked on the design of learning strategies for ant-based algorithms. He has published several articles in international conferences (such as ANTS, GECCO, and CEC) and journals in Computer Science. He has also served as a reviewer for research proposals, conference papers, and journal articles at both international and national levels. In 2023, he was awarded a FONDECYT Initiation Research Grant, where he is currently working on strategies to improve algorithm configuration methods. His current research interests include combinatorial optimization problems, the design of metaheuristic algorithms, algorithm configuration, search trajectory networks, and creative computation.
